Just found out tonight. Looks like a broken ground cable. Don't know where's the other end connect to. Had looked up the repair manual still could not figure out what is this for. Any input and help will be greatly appreciated!

my 2001 had that too.. from what i understand, alot of our cars have it.. it seems dangerous though doesnt it? like it would get caught on something

 

It's not supposed to be hanging that way. It should befrom the cat to the steel support under the car. Many have just removed it (like me)

 

Thanks for your input. But it doesn't sound safe to me if it really for grounding purpose. Do you know the exact location on the cat where the cable is connected to? Thanks!

 

as stated...cat ground...most people just remove it with no problems
