how to increase poor braking
how to increase poor braking
I recently changed my brake disks to slotted (all 4). i aslo have pretty new pads all around on my 02 max gle.
now though the braking isnt as good. i have to put the pedal half way down to get the braking to start. the fluid is clean, full, and no leaks
i blead the system several times although initially lot of air was in system (i first tried to test drive car without bleeding and almost wreked cuz no braking but did bleed after).
any suggestions?
thanks

well most salesman make commision, but I've seen you selling $150STS in the FREE sts thread and now here you are selling hawk pads to the guy who didn't bleed his brakes enough.
I just thought you were sponsored. *IE commision

i was just going by the title "how to increase poor braking" with "get hawk pads"
it was partly a joke because the title is wrong...

I've owned 5 cars (which includes 4 maximas - no I'm not a crap driver I just upgraded
) I've changed about 15 sets of pads, but have bled the lines twice to replace calipers and lines.
I understand if you are putting on a BBK, changing calipers or lines, but if you are just doing the pads, why not just push (and screw in the rears) the piston back into the housing with that tool you can buy for $10(rears), and a large c-clamp for the front? It just makes sense to maintain the integrity of the hydraulic system, because to be honest, I suck at bleeding hydraulic systems, and I don't know why.
Just my opinion, carry on....

I have always bled right rear, left rear, front right, then front left kind of thinking the farthest calipers from master clinder first
Please put down the tools and get help from someone experienced in bleeding brakes before you get yourself hurt.
It takes two people to properly bleed Nissan brakes. so you need help anyway.
