USAA is paying for all replacement of stereo equipment and reinstall fees. I am actually getting upgraded eclipse 10'' subs and capacitor. I still have to pay my $500 deductible but that may get taken care of courtesy of the Air Force. The manager of the hotel here in O'Fallon, Illinois told me I could park in front of the entry doors for the rest of the time I am here and bought me a dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

I had about 30 CD's and my buddy had a backpack with a government laptop inside of it in the back seat and they obviously didn't want it because they were still there.

Oh man, that sucks. How long were you gone? I guess you were either deployed or in a training session. USAA, though, are you an officer? From my time in the Corps my understanding was that you had to be an officer.

Sorry to hear that, my Brother in Arms

That sucks folk. I hope I never go TDY there. Note to self: Never go to O'Fallen Illinois. Good thing you got USAA. As soon as the wife and I came back from Germany that's who we went with for insurance. They even helped us find a house. They set us up with a real good real estate company and agent. My heart goes out to you and your loss though. Hope the new stuff fills the void. G/L.

I will post pictures of my car after the damages are fixed and the new stereo system is installed. I am here in O'Fallon, Illinois until April 30th so I hope my car doesn't get targeted again.

sorry to hear about that, it always pisses me off when people have to steal what they can't work for themselves. at least everything will be taken care of, and the manager was really helpful in letting you park and the dinner.

good luck with the fixes!

I hate thief's. Our family has had several incidents. A few years ago back when everyone still bought cds, he has his whole collection stolen. I believe he was $4000 worth of CDS which he was paid out by insurance. And my dad had a really nice van that had one of the main windows broken. The window was huge and costed him $800.

Sorry about your ride man, that crap always ticks me off. USAA does rule, they covered my theft in the JEEP a while back. Hope it all goes well for you until April 30th.

that definitely sucks man.. with your next system, just ALWAYS remember to take your face plate off.. thieves can still steal the head unit, but they won't be able to sell it without a face plate, so there's no incentive to steal it

Sorry to see that man when installing the new headunit try to get the shop to screw the headunit into the cage they usually dont like to do it but its a safeguard. but if they aren't able to get it out theyll proably be spiteful and take the face if its in there. since they obviously didnt care and smashed your window Bastards.

I've had MULTIPLE NIGHTMARES about this type of stuff happening to me. I wish it didn't have to be your reality. Hopefully everything works out for you, I've always liked your car.

sucks, but...

more reason you don't load your car up with expensive gear....and if you have a detachable-face HU, take the freakin face off....

-they don't see the face, they don't break into the car
-they don't break in, they don't pull the HU
-they don't pull the HU, they don't see all the wires going to the amps/subs
-and so on...

sorry for your loss, but be more careful next time.

well, as soon as they pull the head unit, they'd realize there was wiring for subs/amps.....

I will be installing some protective measures, like razor blades on the box, maybe some poisonous gas to release once the box is removed.

and someday you'll need to move the box for one reason or another and forget about the poisonous gas and...................

If it was me, I would have wished that they took my car all together instead of mess it up and steal some parts off of it. Did your dash get scratched/nicked/damaged in any way? Make sure everything gets fixed the first time.

Good reason for an upgrade.

Can I ask what dash kit that is and where you got it? I bought some dash kit at Fry's for 00-03 maximas and it had gaps everywhere, and I'd have to cut pieces off of it just to install it...worthless
