Loud bang at rear right when going over bumps

There is this loud bang like bottoming out from the rear right on my 2001 GXE whenever going over speed bumps. Thought the rear struts were gone and replaced with Tokico Blues in rear but the noise is still there.

What could cause this? Bad bearing? The car's got 80k miles on it now. I have RSB installed years ago, otherwise everything else is stock in suspense.

Thanks!

the RSB is probably out of adjustment and banging on the center assembly of the beam. Check the u-bolts for signs of contact. I'm assuming it's a cattman or addco RSB?

It isn't wheel bearings, that is for sure.

Sure, it is a Cattman RSB I bought and installed myself.

I will take a look at the alignment.

I experienced the exact same problem for a while. Turned out I had a slow leak (nail).I thought the low pressure in the tire was the source but when I fixed the tire I continued to hear the same noise. I'll take into consideration what I-44j said.

checked your exhaust. My exhaust pipe is now hitting the beam axle. Something has come loose back there but I haven't been able to what.....So every time I hit a dip in the road I get a loud banging noise

My exhust was also making a noise when going over bumps, its easy to check, just move the muffler side to side and up and down a bit and see if it hits anything.

I checked the RSB and exhaust/muffler but saw nothing wrong. Perhaps I need to let a garage take a look at it. The loud bang happens mostly when I go over a bump/dip at a relative fast speed.

Might just be a hanger. Just weld it back on. Easy fix if this is the case

You think that one of the exhaust hangers broke? And it's an easy fix for anyone to do?

i had the same exhaust problem thats mentioned. I couldn't find a broken hanger... so i used ckicken wire that i looped around the exhaust, through a small hole on the ridge of the gas tank and twisted the ends together. Never have had a problem again
