Try CAI or FSTB. I've heard you get good results with those. If you're looking for more HP, go with Y pipe.

Start with intake Stillen/JWT/Place Racing your choice. Then I agree with handling since the Max lacks it a little, Rear Sway Bar & Front strut bar. Y-Pipe...Great Idea good HP gains! Good Luck and keep moding!

First Mod?

Y-pipe, Y-pipe, Y-pipe. Don't even consider anything else. First mod I did was Stillen hi-flo, not enuff power. Took about a month to do Y-pipe & have been happy ever since. Hi-flo seems to kick in aroud 4-5k. I'm no engineer but it just seems to re-distribue hp up the power-band. Anyway, congrats on you clean ride. The guys here on th board are the best ever. Any questions, not only do they answer, but they make educated, intelligent suggestions. Again, welcome, MOD, MOD, MOD. Keep us posted.

My first mod (not including homemade ooglie clears) was progress lowering springs...gave my car about a 2 inch drop...I just couldnt stand having the 4x4 maxima anymore..I figured that I was gonna lower my car no matter what so I went ahead and did that first..now I have alot more time to decide which intake, which exhaust etc. etc. etc....lowering the car made it look 10 times better....if its performance mods your after first id go w/ the cold air intake and/or cattman or stillen Y-pipe....

If you want a performance mod go for the Y-Pipe. Its the most bang for the buck.
