6 speed Maxima in Calgary
I went for a test drive today. Previously I have driven the automatic. The one I drove was Tungsten Green. Looks unique, but not my choice.
First of all, I noticed the clutch pedal is high compared to my 99. The stick is short, yet closer for the driver to reach. Clutch felt good, beside being stiffer and higher than before. The still felt lighter, but not necessarily smooth. Plenty of power, even when I was in 5th and 6th. When I was going 120 km, the rpm in 6th was about 2,400. The dealer showed me the gear ratio. 6th gear is very efficient, and the first two gears are closer. 1st gear will go to a higher speed and when one goes into 2nd the rpm does not drop too much.
I drover it somewhat hard, up to 5,000 rpm. I didn't do the corners too hard. Car still leans but it is quite good considering it is a roomy sports sedan. The HID worked well. The sunroof didn't work perfectly. Saleman showed me the auto up and down windows, and the safety "stop" feature. The BOSE was nice, but I can't tell much difference from the previous ones.
The dealer I went to this time was Brasso. Previously I drove the auto from Sunridge. Saleman said HLSD will be in production November.
