Does This Part EXIST ?
Does This Part EXIST ?
ok so i had an oil leak from the IVT control sprocket cover. Eventually i pulled the covers off and i see where the silicone goes and where the seal is. But mine didnt have the "COLLARED O-RING" clearly seen in the images from the FSM for a 2002 Maxima. This is where i saw oil bubbling out from between the pieces of metal so im very skeptical about putting it back together without some kind of gasket (other than RTV). I have been to a dealership with a printout of the page where i got these pictures and they CANNOT find the part for the life of them. I have seen their printout and it shows no part number or any part for that matter... Im asking, has anyone removed these covers and seen this collared oring? Anyone buy one? Does this part exist? My car didnt have it and the dealership doesnt show a part number for it, and the FSM does not say to rtv this "end" of the part, actually it says to replace the o-rings and the seal. The bottom pic is of the FSM- installing IVTC covers on page 37. THANKS in advance for any replies and help.

i have the FAST software and from what I can see that 0-ring is part of a gasket kit. Part number 11042-8j027

Well i gave Dave B a call and he says i have to order an entire new IVTC cover to get that one "fiber" oring because its not sold separately. As bad as this sounds a new sprocket cover, O-Ring included, will run $ 28.xx , not bad. Im surprised at the cost for my first time, i was expecting at least 70 or 80 bucks considering a keychain remote is like 90. i guess they had to if they dont sell or even make a part number for an oring which would need replacing before the aluminum piece does.
