03 Maxima CAI MAF Sensor

Hey,

I picked up a KN CAI (Or HAI) and its for my vehicle, but the mass air flow sensor from the original air intake doesnt fit. It was made for an 04+ - is there anywhere I can buy one, or do you suggest I just jerry rig it?

You could try wiring in an 04+ MAF, yes. Not sure if it would work or not (looks like A34 and Z33 MAFs are the same, never noticed that before).

How about you just buy an intake made for your car?

Even better, why not just stay stock?

I was looking at wiring in the 04+ MAF, it looks to be the same plug but a different "chasis" I suppose.

The intake was supposed to be made for my car, I dont know what happened there? Its obvious that the engineering was weak though, the battery has to be moved now.

Just stay stock.. as much as that would be simple, I'd like to expand my knowledge in my own car's engine and layout, and see what I can do to gain better performance. Simplest way for me to do that is work on it myself - I learnt a lot on this go!

In the end, thanks for the help though too - I think I'll end up trying to pick up that 04+ MAF sensor anyways. I got mine to work, but its a bit jerry rigged. Clean enough to work and for the average person to not notice, but it still bothers me.

The MAF bolt pattern is different, (both from the housing and the actual sensor). Sounds like this intake incorporates the sensor into its own housing. Try adapting your MAF sensor to the intake.
