Something you may not know about your Max...

How many of you guys know that the center console on the Max has two compartments? I found out about it probably after 6 months after I bought the car. I was quite surprised...now I keep all my change in there.

What do you mean that thing can go back?

The pop up thingy is not at all obvious unless you read the manual, the dealer showed you, or a friend showed you. I found it by accident trying to get to the main cubby.

LOL First time I did it I thought I broke it too.

I didn't notice it before, but looking at pic #2, it's clear that there is a groove on the left side of the thingy that you can rout a cord through.

I was wondering what the heynow they were thinking when they designed that. What can you possibly put there, besides your stash?

Supposedly you can stuff a cellphone in there and run a power cord out the side to the plug in the back of the console...will probably try that later today. I've been keeping all my change in there, holds like $10 in change

Damn mechanics stole all my change

Not to sound mean or anything but the compartment is fairly obvious. Especially if you use the function to make the top part sit up higher. Yes it can also do that if you didn't know that either.

Okay, so I tried to open the bugger today (I've done it before) and I just couldn't get it open. What's the magic combination? I pulled out the manual and everthing. I feel like a moron.

no button to push to open the "secret" compartment. just pull without pushing the button and it will open. also i think in the back of this section there's a piece of plastic which you can unscrew (two screws) and thread a cord through there (to the rear outlet) - instead of fitting it through the side groove.

I knew it was there, but never really use it cuz its so thin. My StarTac won't fit in the thing. Hmmmm, maybe for the insurance and registration...get rid of that glove box clutter.

wow, someone is immature. Don't you have a sandbox to play in? If you have a problem, i'm sure I can assist you offline or via Email. Please be a bit more adult about how you handle your difficulties with other members of this forum...I understand you've only been here since April, but this forum tends to be more laid back, but with a mature atmosphere. The Only thing I found special on My Maxima is that little "Purple" button in the Glove Compartment, On the Top Left hand Corner that initiates the Factory Installed NOS!
