The front and rear bumpers on my 03 is damaged and I'd like to replace them. Do you guys think it will be possible to get a good color match between the body and the bumper. My car is a dark gray, I believe Nissan calls it Sterling Mist. I've heard that this color is nearly impossible to get a good match on but I just want to confirm that rumor before I make any decisions.

I do most of my driving in New Jersey and New York. My car has 89,300 miles on it.

Thanks.

My 01 is sterling mist. My brother scraped his max down the front driver quarterpanel of mine last summer and put a huge dent in it. Tried to blame it on me (because I never park my car there, and it was completely stationary). Took it to the dealer and got a new quarterpanel, and they painted it and blended the color to match the driver door. Looks pretty darn good, can't even tell. Are you planning on taking it to the dealer to have it done?

I was going to order the bumpers online and have them painted professionally. If you don't mind me asking, how much did your stealership paint job cost?

I'm also looking to replace my rear bumper. My 2k car is That Hunter Green. I've seen some Maxima bumpers on ebay which can be sent to you primed or painted for an extra $100 or so. I'll post the link in a few.

What typically occurs is that you provide the body shop that you go to the paint code. They get the paint code, and the year of vehicle and 'blend' it so that it matches to your car. The reason they need the year is because amount of years = x amount of fade, hence why the need to blend it. I live in the southwest, so the pat few times I've had some paint, the 'blend' thing didn't go over so well. I guess Next time I'll tell them my car is 2 years older

If the the paint from you're fender's and hood is good you should be alright......if not faded.

Well, the total included the new quarterpanel, and 4 side door moldings (can only be purchased in fours). Once everything was painted and installed, it was just a tad over a grand. But I didn't end up paying for it, brother was at fault. It was pouring rain outside and he came home to get a pack of gum out of his room. Needless to say, that was the most expensive pack of gum he's ever bought!

Hmmm, painting a front and rear bumper will probably cost a good amount. Labor to have it installed will also be $$$. I would be somewhat hard to get such a large piece back to my house to install it. Maybe I'll just deal with the damage.

really, I figured that those are pretty light pieces and shouldn't be too much trouble to DIY as far as installations. This way you just have the shop paint it. Or have the shop paint it then install it yourself. Whatever works for your budget/skills I guess.

At this point its cost prohibitive. I'll see how much money I make over the summer.

I have the same color, Sterling Mist. I went to Carstar today to get prices for getting my bumpers and the side skirts repainted. I was quoted $500 each for the bumpers and $300 for the side skirts. Based on that I say buy them.
