19X8.5 wheels?

Looking at the dronell m10 wheels. Told by vic at wheelsoptions.com that the 19x8.5 35 offset will fit no problem, no rubbing even when lowered. Im a bit sceptical, and would hate to shell out almost 700 per wheel and have them rub. Personally I think 19x8 35 offset would be the max you would want to go. That said the 8.5 would only stick out 1/4 inch more. Hmmmmm

offset determines how much a wheel sticks out. With a 35 mm offset, the wheel will not stick out much even if it is 8.5"

True, but overall width, 8 vs 8.5 is split either way on the same offset. Im just concerned about the extra 1/4 inch in width to the outside. I once owned a vr6 jetta and didnt know much about wheels and bought used 8 inch 35 offset rims. I had to grind out the inner wheel well on the back and it still rubbed when I had a couple people in the back.

I think you'll stick out with a 35 offset... but I haven't see anyone with that size (on a 5th gen) so

Thats what I think. To be safe maybe Ill try to find a nice 8 inch 35-40 offset rim.(Kruzer V) Too bad I really like the m10.

We have the same taste. I just ordered the same ones for 640 a wheel from some place in texas. I just sold my MOMO's and they were 19x8.5 with a 35 mm offset w/ no rubbing! Anyone want some 18" Lowenharts?

I think I had it backwards.... smaller offset = tire sticks out more.

Right! Bimmers have a negative offset and Acuras have a high positive offset 45mm and the max can go 35-38mms.

If the cls is anything like the tls, how the hell are you gonna cram those wheels on the cls without rubbing. The offset of the stock wheel on the tls is like 55. Ive got a buddy with a tl, he had h&r springs, and 18x8 40 offset rubbed, no scraped the sidewall in the back.

How much for the Lowenharts? How old are they and do I get tires? What kind of Lowenhart model are they? Chrome or Alloy finish?
