For the past week or so I've been having intermittent problems with my Viper 5900 receiver. Occasionally, the system functions are it should but other times I can't perform any command, can't unlock anything and can't remote start the car. The remote just beeps 3 times as if its out of range. Otherwise the receiver is functioning as it should. Its receiving power and performs its security duties as it should. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a fix for this?

 

It could be the remote, antenna, or the antenna wire itself. If you trace that wire back to the brain....you'll be able to inspect it along the way to make sure that its not "pinched" anywhere.

 

Err, I dont even know where the reciever is located in the car. Ugh something else to trouble shoot.

 

All you need to do is pull off the lower dash panel in your car, and I'm sure you'll see the brain hanging around in there somewhere. It'll be the only thing that says "VIPER" right on it.
