All Black Interior - Lightening it up

I've been looking for a good deal on a 2001 SE Anniv Ed. and I think I found one. Only problem is it's the all black interior...leather, door panels etc. I think it would be ok if I could little by little add some lighter color accents to the door panlel, seats and maybe a brushed aluminium dash kit.
What do you guys think about the all black interior? Just seems HOT to me. Have any of you added accent colors to your seats and door panels? I'd love to see some pics and maybe a little information on how much you paid to have it done. Thanks in advance.

I wish I had the black interior on my AE, instead I have frost. I couldn't pass it up though. I would just keep the black, but hey, its your opinion. Do what you think would look good.

Yeah. That's the one thing that actually bugs me about my interior. I wish it was ALL black - I don't care for the lighter color above the beltline.

To answer the O.P.'s question - yes, it's hot, but that's what the A/C is for isn't it?

when i did the black leather swap into my car, i left the interior door handles tan, and i think it looks sick with the black leather door panels.

Too bad you didn't have grey leather....I'd get the car and swap interiors with you.

Looking around today I found a white AE with grey leather...I think. Anyway, the car is absolutely gorgeous. Only problem is they are asking $2K more than the one I'm looking at.

metalmaxima's interior looked awsome, it was black with off white cloth inserts and trim.

Been replacing the tan with black with black leather in the back and tan cloth up front. I like the frost though. I remember the 84 Maxima I ever rode in had frost interior. It was so clean. But even that 85 Celica GT looked futuristic to me in many ways back then.

I don't know. I guess it's not all that bad. I just hate it when black interiors start getting cloudy and faded. I think some medium grey door, seat and other plastic inserts might look pretty good. Either way, I think I've sort of decided against that car anyway. Good deal and all, but we'll see.

i like the gray leather i agree with other poster about the tan pillars and the headliner dont know why they didnt just do all black. i was lookinh for black on black but ended with silver on black love it had the same set up in the 98 i30 but the whole interior was black. my favorite color combos is white on black sil on black and the best is the black on black.i had tan interior it just get dirty quickly and u can notice it faster than with black. im thinking of changing the parts that are tan with alll black.

Well my 2 cents: I got a black on black (leather) 2000 and it looks great, and actually is harder to find. Is it hot in summer? yes, but with tinted windows and A/C no problems. If you take care of the leather it won't fade, as I said mine is 2000 and interior looks like new, my camera is broken, but will post some pics soon.

Nah, it's grey lustre. I did find a white AE in Dallas, but it;s got the lighter color interior.

I don't think the black seats bother me all that much...the black door panals and dash are probably more of an issue. I'm just picky I guess. Although, the more I look around this site and look on the internet, the black interior is REALLY growing on me. I've got a 17 month old and black would probably be a better idea than the lighter interior.
