Front strut mount question

If I buy a front strut mount for my 02 GLE does it come with the 3 studs or do I need to remove them from my old mount? I went to CarQuest to buy them today and the guy at the counter told me that the studs did not come with the mount and they would need to be removed from the old one?

All you do it take off the 3 nuts off each side, slap on the bar and put them on again. Pretty simple.

The guy from CarQuest is correct. The strut mounts are seperate from the plate with three studs attached to it. The strut mounts do not come with the studs.

Courtesy is a good place to look through when you're interested in knowing stuff like this, as the breakdowns they have there are directly from FAST.

http://www.courtesyparts.com/betasit...2046_2048.html

The upper strut mount in this case is shown as part code 54320, and the strut mount bracket with the three studs is shown as part code 54322.

I needed new studs because the threads are stripped on mine. I called a local dealer and they told me the part was called a front strut mount insulator bracket (like the courtesy diagram shows *thanks pmohr*), the guy @ CarQuest told me they needed to be tapped in & out like wheel studs???
I ordered the part from the dealer for $13 it will be in on Wednesday.
