O2 sim install question

So I installed my 02 sim and want to make sure I did this correctly.

I put everything "inline" white, black, red on one of the sensors and just white on the other primary sensor.

I guess my question is should I have cut the sensor wires completly? instead I stripped a portion of the sensor insulation and wrapped the o2 sensor wire around it?

the install directions are a little confusing to me.

You are supposed to cut the signal wires on the harness completely, if not you won't really be intercepting the signal.

Yes the purpose is to simulate the signal, cut the wires completely as Puppet has said.

Adding a sim is dead easy and probably easier to hide...

Some emissions inspectors actually know what to look for, I guess.
