Check Engine Light!!! Also added bulbs to car...

Hey whats up guys havn't been on in a while...

So I'm driving about 40mph and I see my Check Engine light come on and boy oh boy was I scared, I know it's usually no biggy but it was weird. I know in my mom's accord the light comes on when a service is due and if you service your car not at Nissan than you need to get the light off. The millaege was about 23,600 even and well can anyone tell me what to do next? I've done about 100 miles and all is good.

Also, I installed blue #194 bulbs on the doors and blue #194 reverse lights. Next step is to install the Dome Light and the Map Light, however I have NO idea where to get the dome light. Also I'm thinking about getting the 194's installed for my license lights but that might be askin for trouble.....

Any tips highly appreciated Thanks in advance guys!

Not sure about the service engine light. Maybe reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery?

As for the lights, do the rear turn signals emit blue light, or are they blue but emit white light? I don't think it's legal to have anything but amber in the turn signals. I have a set of rear turn signal xtreme whites, but haven't installed then because I'm pretty sure it's not legal.

For the dome light, you can get them at www.autobulbdepot.com. It's the T-6 type bulb. Comes in a two pack, so you'll have a spare. Costs $12.50 for the pack.

Weird, their website seems to be down right now...

Whoops, misread your post, you were talking about the reverse lights, not the turn signals.

I think any T-6 type bulb will work. It's only about 3/4 inch long. The PIAA xtreme white bulb emits a pretty weak light, if that matters to you.

there is no 'maintenance required' light on the maxima like there is on Hondas. The light means that the ECu has detected a malfunction in one of the engine's control systems. Just take it to a dealer to get it fixed up.
