It's love.
It's love.
I'm sure I'm not the only one on this forum who absolutely loves their max, but I realized yesterday exactly how much I love her. I was being offered either an '04 Acura TSX OR a brand new full loaded '09 Camry - I turned down both. Did I mention that they would have been close to free with trade for my max? There's just nothing that I want that my '00 max doesn't provide, and considering both cars were slower and smaller than my max, I think I'll stick with my nice VQ and let somebody else take the others.
I'm sure that some day I'll have to sell, but somebody will basically have to force feed me some other car (hopefully a max) when mine bites the bullet. I've already put 30,000 miles on in the past three years, and I love every moment. Every time I get in, I love the smell and the feel of everything.. but I've ranted on enough - who of you shares my love for your cars?

When I bought my '02 I35 Sport back in 2005, I still lived with my parents and I was wrapping up my last year of college. At the time, I had plenty of free time to wash the car, perform my own maintenance and basic repairs, etc. It was a labor of love because I was proud to drive a three year old "luxury" car with an unmatched blend of power, comfort, and style. At that point in time, I wouldn't have traded my car for anything else on the road.
Now, I'm married and working full time and I've found that I enjoy other things more than taking care of my I35... I have less free time so I end up spending it with my wife or with friends/family. I see my car as a means of transportation and something that I want to invest a minimum amount of time and money on considering the financial and social implications.
To sum it up, I do enjoy my I35, but I'm at a stage in my life where I'd be just as happy with a Sentra.

basically what everyone is trying to say is that you messed up bad. if you really were getting to trade a 2000 for an 09 camry fully loaded for nearly free and you didnt take it youre on crack. that car is worth a boatload more than you 2000 max, not to mention probly faster and more luxurious. but alright
I definatly love my maximus maybe its because its the first realy nice car I've owned but IDK I've allways loved modified cars but was never willing to spend the cash on any of my previous cars... this car is awsome and definatly don't mind droping in my time and cash.
I love the hell outta my 6 speed 03. I never babied a car this much. I love the way it looks, the way it handles, and the sweet power of the VQ. I plan on driving her till the wheels fall off, plus she's paid for and only has 71,000 miles...........

Every one of you has way to much time on their hands to even think of something to say to this, maximas are nice cars .....yet if someone wanted to give me a newer car with less mileage that is more relaible you bet your a$$ im gonna take it
dude you just replied to this also therefor you are equal.
i wont lie, im kinda feelin the OP, there's not too much ill trade for, however ill trade a 00-01 for a 02-03 all day
, chances are the 09 camry was a 4 banger fully loaded, i would trade then sell it for more and get a 3.5, im in love with 5th gens

While I don't necessarily agree that a Camry is 10x better than a Maxima, the outrageous swap that was eluded to by the OP you'd have to have something seriously wrong with you to not take that offer. You can't really compare a a 5th gen to a brand new 2009 Camry anyways, I'd take a 2009 Maxima anyday over an 09 Camry.
i loved my 03 6sp until recently. had it since she was <40K miles and now has 115K miles. I drive her 120 miles/day but she's getting old now with minor problems like vibration and need new exhaust. Dealership just quoted me $1700 to do the above, they're out of their mind if they think I'm a sucker. I'm still in in for the VQ35 engine, never liked Toyotas, they're for old people or Honda's weak low RPM torque and V6 is always better than the 4 banger to me even with the high gas prices. Make me a good enough offer and she can be yours.

I realize that either car would be worth a lot more, but honestly, I'd rather be driving the maxima than the camry - it's neat, but just not my style, and definitely not unique .. the TSX, on the other hand, is a lot closer to a car I'd like to be driving, and I'm sure I would be very happy driving it vs my max, but I just love the way the max is laid out and I suppose I'm just used to it. Also, my maxima feels like a much more solid car, whereas the TSX feels like a toy in comparison.
Yes, the max is not as quiet as the Camry, and it's not as agile as the TSX, but she's the best mix of power and comfort that I've ever had the pleasure to drive, and I wouldn't trade her for any other car I've driven thus far.

.....Couldn't of said it better.....
