5th Gen ECM Swap Question

Does anyone know if a ECM from a 2000 CALI MT will work properly in a 2001 CALI MT??

Thanks

It should, but as we all should know, you will need to get it (ECM) programmed to YOUR key.

What's the situation here that prompts this question?

Thanks... I figured it would work. As I looked at the O2 sensor diagram, they looked the same. Reason for this is, I'm trying to sell the ECM. My car was swapped from AUTO to MT a while back and the mechanic used the wrong ECM. I have resolved my issues and I'm trying to pass this ECM on to someone who could use it. The question came up about using it in a 2001.

Thanks again...

How do you tell if the ECM is for cali or fed spec? I purchased a used ECM for my swap. I have an I30 which is all cali spec. Will the manual ecm work? What about the swirl?
Here is the VIN for the ECM

Whats the best way to get the ecm programmed for my key? The dealer says the ecm must be in the car to program. If I send it to jim wolf, can the disable IMMU?

Yes, it must be in the car and hooked up to program it.

No, JWT can not get rid of the NATS system.

hmmm, so im kinda at a catch 22? I want to do the swap with no dealer interference, however i need them or i cant start the car. Can I bring the key in and have it programed for that vin and use that to start the car? The data is verified in the ecm but is it stored anywhere in the receiver on the ignition? Is the id stored in the secu?
