Easy one: Battery Ground

Working on a 5th. Does the batter ground to that small 10mm bolt hole on the tranny? If so then my problem lies elsewhere

Used to the 4gs that bolt up to the heads.

I grounded my battery to the bolt right next to the battery (already has something else grounded to it). If you are facing the front of the car, it would be to the right of the battery (might have to take battery out to get to it). This is from Shinjiduo's instructions which came with the kit.

The line goes from engine block to chassis ground behind the battery to the actual battery. The tranny ground goes from tranny to another chassis ground by the starter.

okay that what I was wondering. I thought that hole on the tranny (close to the tranny) was for the battery ground. its threaded.

its goes on the engine block on the heads? can you give a description of where? because my friends 2k3 battery ground wires doesnt reach far enough to the block.

It's on the block, by where the tranny dip stick is IIRC.

the motor finally turned over a little bit. then i lost all power. i turn the key back on and then i got all power back. kept trying to crank it up a few more times and now the starter is smoking really bad.

Look directly behind the left hand head. There's a bracket bolted on to the coolant log, onto which the ground cable from the battery is bolted.

At least, that's how it is with Merlyn's but we've messed with that thing so much...
