bad abs sensor? clean it or replace it?

had to replace the spindle on my driver side (front) the replacement was off a 2003 maxima and mine is a 2001, my old abs sensor broke and the one on my new spindle 's plug was different, so i drove my car for about 2miles w/o plugging the abs sensor on the front left side, and when i came home i cut the plug off the old one and hooked it to the new one but still i had the abs, slip and tsc off lights . the wires were just taped so today i soldered them and made sure there is a solid connection and also i sprayed some compressed air to the sensor (when sensor was not hooked) and after that the lights didnt come up but when the car hit 20mph+ they came back any idea what can be the problem?

and also i used the multimeter to check the resistance (i think its the one you use to check a connection) and on the dricer side i got a 680 and on the left side i got 12xx

Do you have the ESM? If so, it states (BR-63) resistance should be between .8 - 1.85 ohms.

YOu probably have your meter on the wrong settings and the resistance of your drivers side might be .68, if so, you need to replace that sensor.

Did you also check the clearance between the sensor and the rotor axial? You must have between .273 and .925. You check this with feeler gauges. (BR-64)

yea i want to replace it but when i tried to remove the sensor on the old knuckle the head on the nut broke off and believe me i used a lot of wd40, so i don't want to break this one too, and i'm on a tight budget just got done form a $460 repair so i don't want to take to to a shop
