Would this work in place of the oil catch can?

I am getting tired of emptying my "oil catch can" every week.

I was wondering if i can remove the oil catch can and replace it with the following:
1. Install a "breather" on the PCV valve.
2. Close/cap the opening on the intake manif. and eliminate the need to have the PCV connected to the I.M.

This should stop oil from being sucked into the I.M, yet the PCV valve will be able to breathe.

Am i missing something or this would just work?

Thanks!

I've seen plenty of cars with a small cylindrical air filter on the PCV valve, so I imagine it would work. Probably wouldn't get you past inspection, though.

Yeah, most likely i won't pass inspection but it should be easy enough to quickly connect the PCV to the IM, before the test.
The oil catch can won't pass the inspection either.

I just want to eliminate the oil catch can and still prevent oil from being sucked into the IM. Looking at my oil catch can and the amount of oil i had to drain every week - i can tell that a lot of it gets in the IM.

What do you mean by wont pass? wont pass visual inspections (as in WTF is this??? this shouldnt be here...). Or will it somehow throw off the obd II emissions testing? If it is the first you could just tuck it away under the air box i guess.
