Question on TCM Fix

There is nothing wrong with my Max (at least I don't think). Should I insist that the dealer do it anyway. Will they give me a hard time if there is no slippage?

It really depends. I had slippage and it took me about 4-5 tries. Some people mentioned the TSB and it was done. Give it a shot!

I heard some people on here that had no slippage but got the TCM done say they can feel a difference. You think it's just in their head?

I had hat slippage before fix and I still have it now, nothing changed from VB replacement from the second TSB. What really changed is my tranny's downshift behaviour - the TCM replacement solved problem completely (under the first TSB). I used to have random delays up to 1.5 seconds on highways when I was flooring it trying to pass somebody . Now, after TCM replacement those delays are gone.

Mike.
