code p0420 and TSB 00-070B

Hi - Just pulled a code for P-0420. I've been searching around and it looks like there is a TSB 00-070B written up back in June of 2004. I found the "A" version but can't find this "B" version. Does anyone have any insight to the changes in the "B" version?

Thanks
Jim

I fixed this code by cleaning up the ground wires for the sensor and reset the ecu. It's been 2 months now and it hasn't come back and no pending codes either. Also check yur oil make sure you're not overdue for a change this could also cause that code.

Hey Johnny - Thanks for the response. The car is a 2000. You mentioned an oil change can pop this code?

Thanks
Jim

Old dirty oil can cause the sensor to misinterpet data if memory serves me correctly I'll see if I can dig up the thread where I found the info for you.

How/where did you clean the ground wires?

I only did the front sensor grounds but once you take off the engine cover and locate the sensor just trace the two wires they are grounded to the intake manifold(I think) but they are right next to each other on the passengers side they are lined up front to back you will see them. Just use a wire brush or some fine sandpaper and clean them till they are shinny again mine were slightly coroded.
