Strut install party

Installed new Tokico Blues this weekend.

I'm not posting my impressions because there is plenty of info on these struts.

I created this thread because -
I havent started a new thread in awhile
I wanted to post pics

I had the help of Lance (S00NR1), my son, and my wife.

Enjoy

Finally got married, huh Jason? Congrats. Your son and wife came in handy in getting those rear shock bolts.

Why wasn't I invited?

How long did the install take? I've got 137,800 miles on what appear to be the stock struts so it is well past time for new ones.

My Dad showed me how to clean cars, probably one of the reasons I have my own detailing business now even though detailing was more of a hobby for my Dad. A few Christmas's ago, he wanted a lot of the stuff I use to maintain his and my Mom's car. The mechanical stuff I picked up mostly on my own. Having a Chevelle as a first car helped too. Much easier to work on than cars now. Last time I put an engine in it, from the time we put it into position on the hoist over the engine bay to the time I started it was two hours-me doing most of the work. My Dad worked the hoist and my little brother held the headers apart while I guided the engine in. After that, I took over turning wrenches. Not sure I'd even try with the Maxima, so many electrical connections, vacuum lines, tight engine bay, etc.

My kids on the other hand have shown zero interest. It was like pulling teeth to get my son to help out while I put a radiator in his Accord. Glad to see you at least show an interest in learning. It will pay off for you. Even if you don't do much of your own work, knowing about cars and how they work will make it much harder for a mechanic to pull a fast one on you.

when i was 12 i helped my dad rebuild his Scout....then didnt do anything else until i got my first max. i was surprised at how quickly i learned and i know its because of what my dad taught me. the most valuable lesson he ever taught me - always put the tools away when you are done. that has stuck to this day...tools always go up and ive never lost anything. now im teaching my son that.

I was never interested in helping pops work on his cars.Id install speakers and headunits but thats it.I still dont like to mess to much with the mechanical side but Id rather do it myself if possible.
