SHIFT KITS FOR A/T
#2
I researched this topic and found that companies like Level 10 and the "Don" guy install a "kit" when a VB mod is performed, along with a few other possible tweaks, depending on how much work you wanted done and what results you wanted: street or race setup.
Here is an older article about Level 10: http://www.fourthrock.com/maxima/level10vb.pdf
I went on to search the Internet for possible sellers of the "kit". I found some places that advertised them, mostly for US cars like Ford and Chevy's. I found the company TransGo was the best bet, but they only sold to dealers, or something like that.
In summary, the parts for a VB mod cost between $100~$250, it is somewhat straight forward to do.

What?
Shell out the $500 for the "kit"?
There is no "kit". You can have your VB modded by someone who does it professionally....(like the "Don" guy, hehe)for $450, or Level 10 for about $750, but that won't include the "labor" of at least another $500 from Level 10, and only $250 from that "Don" guy.

Don,
I'm glad somebody with your knowledge and expertise has responded. Are you saying your work is different from a "shift kit" type product that, say, Summit Racing advertises (for American cars)?
I think most will agree it is probably safer and easier for Don to "just take care of it".
