Any Replace Front Rotor Shield Before?

I painted and replaced the rear rotor shields (plates or dust shields) and planned on doing the same to the front. I ordered the parts, and unlike the rear, it appears there are no bolts to put it on. The part is 41151M on Courtesy's site under front brake. I cannot imagine it just sits over the spindle. Is it adhered in some way? If anyone has replaced these some insight would help.

Thanks

The baffle plate is pressed onto the steering knuckle. And it's "trapped" between the hub and the knuckle. Unfortunately you have to remove the knuckle and then remove the hub, which means you have to replace the bearing. Therefore the procedure is the same as if you were replacing a duff bearing. It requires tooling/adapters/pushers etc. and about a 10 ton press.

Can't you just remove the hub without the knuckle and replace it then?

Thanks for your input, it is much appreciated.

No, because when you push the hub out you essentially destroy the bearing. The "fit" of the hub in the inner race is REALLY tight, as well as the outer race in the knuckle. There is NO shortcut here. This has been discussed here before and if this job (bearing replacement) is not done by someone with the correct tooling and knowledge, the job soon has to be redone because the bearing has been screwed up. Believe me.

Well thanks for the input. Since I do not think I need bearings I guess I will wait and let someone do it when the time comes and they can put on the new shields. The manual does mention having a professional remove the spindle, but gave instructions on how to remove the hub. Knowing what you said, it appears a do it yourselfer does not touch either of them.
