I am getting this wierd metal clicking noise from the automatic transmission when I push break pedal and the transmission is in 'Parking' position. I just bought my new Maxima SE 2001 a few days ago. I am going back to the dealer next week to check it out. Any ideas? Anybody had similar problem? Is it a problem at all?

Not a problem

you are releasing the shift lock which is necessary to move the car out of Park. Perfectly normal.

Re: Not a problem

Thank you for your response. I got worried because I have never heard anything like that on other cars.
