Brake Question

I have searched and read a few brake threads, but most of it is like greek to me. I am not an experienced mechanic, but I can do some things, I have swapped a tranny in an 82 mustang, replaced the MAF and Clutch Slave Cylinder on my 01 AE Maxima.

That gives you an idea of my skill level. Here is the bottom line. I need new brakes for my maxima. I want to get something upgraded since I am replacing the rotors and pads anyway. What is the easiest/best way to get more stopping power without raiding the junkyard?

I really appreciate any help that can be provided.

Thanks!

i say go for some brembo blanks and some hawk hps pads from the group buy. hawks bite real nice i had them for around 6k and cant complain. u can do brake upgrade to 300zx or 6th gen max brakes but u need a bracket which costs extra.

Define upgrade...only pads and rotors or will change calipers too? Budget would also help.

Easiest and cheapest would be plain vanilla blank rotors from NAPA, Autozone...etc as Brembo is not really better and Hawk HPS pads.

Second cheapest would be 6th gen brakes which means bigger caliper, 12.6" rotors which is all OEM and bolts up.
