changed end links now a new problem

ok so i was having a popping or tapping noise in my driver front when hitting dips or bumps. Thought it was the strut hat and too the strut out but all was fine. found it was the sway bar end links and changed them today. Awesome the noise is gone feels a bit tighter. Much improved now my steering center is off. If the steerig wheel is straight the car slowly turns to the left. So my steering wheel is angled like this \ , not as drastic but you gert the point. What in the world would do this. I didnt touch any steering components. Only thing which i have to fix is on the driver side i used the washers for the top and bottom end links. On the pass side i lost one so only have one washer in and will fox this tomorrow. This wouldnt change the steering as it is not a steering component though. Anyone have this happen or have some insight i cannot figure out..?

i don't think the sway bar links could be responsible for the misalignment unless you had to force it on and it has a sidways pull to it. i would check the struts very closely to see if they are installed correctly.

everything is in correct. ive done the struts many times. the hat states out and is in tha position. there was no binding while installing anything. nothing was forced or anything. was a simple 30 min job but now i get this prob. i agree i dont think its the links either but now i need to figure why this is happening.

control arm bushings, can make a noise try to kick the wheel and see if it moves

no noises thats the thing. the end links quited it all. i think one thing may have done it. when i had the strut out i dissaembled iit checked it and put it back together. i guess it when in a bit different than before. so what i did is on the outer tie rod there is a lock nut that you can loosen and the rod has a 12 mm groove cut in it to put a wrench. i centered the steering wheel, loosened the nut and adjusted the tie rod. i got it back to center. im gonna go to my fathers garage tomorrow and check to make sure the toe is correct with the front on the wheels closer by 18th inch than the back of the front wheels to make sure its all good. ill keep you informed.

Confused

"I didnt touch any steering components."....Uh, if you touched the tie rod end, you touched a steering component Obviously you touched these after your initial message.. (Atleast I hope)

if you read my first post yesterday i said i touched no steering components and that is correct. Today one day later i then touch steering components such as the tie rod. so yes i did and will tomorrow to check the toe with the correct tools. took it for a ride alittle while a go and the steering is straight now. just dont know the degrees of toe in

The hub is a suspension and steering component. Both are connected to it. The play in the bolt holes of the strut will allow the hub to move slightly, inward or outward. Any movement of the hub will change the camber and toe settings. Thats why your steering was moved slightly. You should have the car aligned correctly so both camber and toe can be set evenly on both sides. It was obviously changed, indicated by your change in steering wheel position.

took the car out to the gym last night. i have 34-36 lbs in each tire. the car felt so much more stable and tight. who knows it may be in my head but it feels like a new car with the end links changed. no more banging sounds or anything. ust nice and quite. i honestly didnt think the end links were the problem but i was wrong
