FIRST TIME MESSING WITH THE CAR

just got my 00 bout 2 weeks ago and when i brought it the sub was missing in the the rear deck of the bose system. i knew that b4 i brought it since i plan on replacing all audio components, and build a floor box to put my subs in from the old max. but stalling because my dvd navi system hu got stolen out the old car while it was waiting to be appraised by the adjuster but thats another story.
any way got tired of riding around with no bass or tump so went to best buy and got a rca tapper for my old amp and wired it into the wires that was left from the old bose amp connector still in the car. it had five wires (orange, black, blue, yellow, purple) and i hooked the orange into the power on the amp, the black to the ground, the blue to the remote, and used the rca tapper to tap into the yellow and purple and pluged the rca into the amp. then i have the amp connected to two 10in sub box.
the bass is low with the amp turn all the way up. not sure how to fix that. or if having it wired like this could cause problems. but for right now it works until i can get a new headunit for the car. also if i was to hook the amp up to the battery directly instead of thru the factory wires would that give me more bass and still use the blue for the remote?
but for 10 bucks it works for now.

will take pictures if u want to see

Likely the amp needs more power than the harness for the stock bose sub amp can supply. Since you planning to do something else anyway, I would run a dedicated power cable for the amp. You might attempted to find a wiring diagram to confirm the blue wire is really a signal wire.

Bose runs 1 ohm speakers, your sub is probly more than that.

before you start connecting something to any wire, make sure it is safe to do so and will give you the desired effect via FSM electrical wiring diagrams.

#1 this is in the wrong section.

#2:

#3 NEVER tap that for power. i'm amazed it hasn't blown a fuse. run a FUSED wire from your batt to your amp and give the amp a GOOD ground that is less then 3 feet long from ground to amp.
