Horrible problem with the wheel bearing!! PLEASE HELP

Hey guys

I have a 2002 MAXIMA and it has given me major problems with the passenger side wheel bearing. in the last year and a half, I replaced the bearing 3 TIMES!!!! There has to be a problem with something else, right? How could a bearing broke so many times?? Please give me any recommendations that you have. Also, how much will it cost to get the bearing fixed at a dealer?

Thanks for your help!

Ide say its either been installed cockeyed or it was over tightened to many times, ide suggest a new knuckle.

This comes up quite often it seems. This is either an assembly problem, or it's a part(s) issue. If the steering knuckle (the bearing bore), certain critical areas of the hub and/or the outer axle shaft are damaged or worn, and then if these parts are reused, then the new bearing can fail again very soon after. And I'll say it again.......the torquing of the bearing lock nut to 188-245 ft/lbs is damn important as well. (It's pretty difficult to "overtighten" it)

A new hub will fix you right up! After having to replace the bearing so many times, to me, I would suspect that the real damage was caused by the bearing , when gone bad, left in there too long, and chewing up the hub. Checkers, autozone, and discount auto have them for our cars, and they are about $65.00. (from nissan the assemby is about $160.00)

Definitely should of change the hubs when you did the bearings.
