Retrofit

I hear so much about retrofitting headlights and converting headlights for HIDs. I have a 2000 Max and I want to get 2002 headlights put on my car so I can get hids. How would I go about doing this? I tried a link in the how to but it doesnt work.

You can get HIDS in your stock headlights. You don't have to convert to 5.5 gen headlights.

IMO, 5.5 headlights on the 00-01 bumper looks so much better, it fills the gaps that are around the OEM headlights (5.5 lights are slightly bigger)

As further note for future reference, I did run HIDs in OEM 00-01 Lights (I know ), the light output is scattered, but for those who are looking at those black housing headlights on ebay for 00-01, do not use them with HIDs, the reflector is not the same and scatters the light horribly (I know cause I tried). So in the amount of money I spent for HIDs and then the ebay lights, I could've had the 5.5 lights all along

Since you have experience in this field, more then myself, I will have to agree with you. OP, get some 5.5 gen OEM* headlights. Don't go for that eBay stuff.

I wouldn't do this not just because as dave stated its illegal, but it looks like crap compared to some 5.5 housings.

All you need is the housings, ballasts/ignitors/bulbs (oe is reccomended but you can get aftermarket ones now for a good price). And you can either do a little wiring yourself or buy the harness from daveb or courtesy nissan.
