Emergency brake play (slop)

I searched and didn't come across anything. My E-brake has quit a bit of play in it when you pull up on it. It works fine but I was hoping to take up some of the slack if possible. Anyone adjusted theirs?

Never adjusted it on my max, but I would assume it is like most other cars. There should be an adjustment nut on the line before it exits the interior underneath the center console. Just tighten it till the play is gone.

if u pull the e-brake and look underneath there is a 10 mil nut that adjust the cable.
However be careful not to tighten too much or else you will drive with e-brake applied if too tight even if lever down. 5 clicks should hold your car in gear warmed up in automatic transaxle

Or wait.. is my car's parking brake working correctly? 10 notches is the normal?

Other than that.. is it normal have some free play (up and down) before hitting the First notch?

My car has plenty of free play and can easily bust a 180 if I rip the e-brake hard. =0

Mine's got a little bit of play too. Don't notice any adverse effects.
