Headlights turn off when blinker is on?

Ok so i installed my new h4 kit and its lovely. But the only problem i seem to be having is when i have the blinker on i turn and the wheel catches the blinker to bring it back to center, my hids flicker off then back on in about a second. It might be a bad wire but i dont see what could be bad its a simple plug and play kit?

Could it be something screwy with where the aftermarket plugs that go into the H4 plug? I'd recheck all the wiring and see if that helps.

Check you wiring. Could also be your switch considering the blinker/lights all run thru the same switch.

Idk about the wiring i checked over it all and it looked good. It also only happens after driving for maybe like 5 minutes or more?

I think its your switch. The HID's take more power to fire up so now it could finaly be showing you its bad. Its like doing a brake job and finding out your master is bad.

My headlights sometimes flicker when I downshift and I don't know why. I'm afraid its my switch.

Are switches expensive or hard to replace or is it just a nuisance?

Better yet, what happens when you put the stock lights back in? Does it still happen? Just to make sure it couldn't be the wiring.

If it still happens, it's probably the switch. Replacing the stalk probably isn't too difficult to do. Everything is contained in the steering column.

Not sure dont really want to unhook it all and stuff. I checked all the wiring though and it all appeared solid.

Just because the wiring "looks" solid doesn't mean it can't have a problem. The idea is to see if you can recreate the problem without the HID kit in there. If the problem sticks around, then the problem exists in circuit for the headlights/turnsignals (again I would say it's the switch as the next probable fault). If it doesn't...then there is a good chance the HID kit could be at fault.

Also how do you have the kit hooked up? Do you have the ballasts hooked directly to the headlight harness, or is there a relay between so the ballasts take power directly from the battery? If you have the ballast straight into the headlight harness, that itself could be a problem as well (cold startup draws a lot of power).

Thanks for the compliment btw.

Nope i put them back in and it didnt happen. And it is hooked directly to the headlight harness but the problem isnt start up. Its only after i have been driving for a while and sometimes its not both headlights. Sometimes its just one and usually only happens when my blinker is on longer than 5+ seconds.

But it doesnt happen when i turn my hazards on.
