tax return time ( gift for the max)

ok so getting my tax return back by weekend or early next week. i want to get something for the car. not sure what to get first.

1. tint $100
2. pinoneer headunit dvdhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...sr=1-1&seller=

already have speakers/amps/subs out of old car.
so going to put that in with the unit.
also will need the bluetooth adapter and ipod

have a sprint touch pro w/ navi so dont need navi in the dash

3. headlights 02-03 style
( also doing the bumper swap later on maybe side sill or stillen kit.)

i only want to spend no more then 400 maybe 500

only thing i'm kinda worried about is the fact i need to have a alarm put on the car if i put the system in and also tint. just started a new job at a dealership this week so getting the car fix slowly with each paycheck. also getting the car repainted and going to see if i can get the 3.5 engine and get it swaped into my car since my mileage is about 214,000 now.

also still haven't found a trunk floor( mat, spare tire cover) for my trunk. so maybe i should get all that together with the tint and trunk b4 getting my stereo. i dunno what do you think???????

214,000....congrats! why switch it now if shes been good all this time. run it until it dies...then get a 3.5. I would do an alarm before a tint and sterio. no point in buying all that stuff and then getting it stolen.

I agree, I have lumar all around also, they're great tints. Got mine a little cheaper though.

I learned to apply tint myself and buy the $30 precut kits on ebay and have yet to get one that isn't excellent quality tint. Cutting the tinted is the most difficult part. I have invested in application tools though.

I vote for tint and skip the lights. Don't want to sink too much money into it. Sock that money away, someday you'll be glad you did.

The problem with NJ is that you can't tint the front side windows. It will fail inspection everytime. So you have this nice dark back and rear sides and just plain glass on the front sides. Not sure it's worth the expense for me.

Can you run a double din stereo in the Maxima? Crutchfield told me no as there is no way to attach it in the dash. They told me you have to run an E size and they will give the installation kit to do so.

personally i'd probably hold off on modding it because of the high miles but that's me.

tint for $100 is cheap i hope it comes with a warranty.

the 02-03 headlights arn't hard to wire in and look 100x better. if you need any help clearing them painting etc or with the install just PM me.

g'luck and throw that system in ASAP!

No problem attaching it in the dash? I thought people were running them in the dash but when Crutchfield said it wouldn't work, it got me thinking.

double dins fit fine. no problems at all. just buy the $20 dash kit for them. i think metra just came out with one like 2 months ago. before that you had to buy the whole kit for a GXE which was like $180 + shipping.

Where do you get that from? I am undecided on if I want to get a double or a regular but I am tired of the 6disc cutting out and not being able to control my iPod.

Can you run an aftermarket headunit with the bose system in the car?

not true. you just can't crank the volume all the way up. the speakers will get just as loud if not louder than before, just at a lower volume setting

what headunit you looking at? you can get a great one for only $250...

I am wanting to upgrade the headunit right now (and get rid of the 6disc changer), with the idea of installing new speakers, a speaker amp, a sub amp, and subs down the line. I gotta have at least 3 rca preamp outs and that limits what I can buy. I definitely want to get everything Blose out of the car at some point though.

Gotta get the head unit fixed pretty quickly though so I can have decent tunes when i head out to texas for 3 months in march.

tax returns are the best. just added another thing to the list. had the car checked at my dealership i work at today and i was told i need 4 new struts/shocks, 2 motor mounts, and a new radiator. so will be adding the radiator to the list and take my time fixing the rest. i want to get aftermarket struts/shocks but dont know what will be the best bang for my dollar.
