Muffler Question..

I was looking on ebay and I found this. It is what I wanted because I was looking for something that would fit into the cutout of the bumper. Im not looking for anything performance wise I just really dont like the downward facing pipes.

Now, what would I be expecting with this..

Edit: Sorry, just got off work.. really tired..

the stock se square tip was the thing i hated most about my stock cars looks besides the wheel gap. i always thought it looked a little funky, but that tip might not look that bad, and looks like it would fit the contour pretty well.

try it out and let us know.

you most likely have to get that muffler welded not to mention it could have the most horrifying exhaust note

Why not jus buy this instead? No need to get it custom fit or welded. I currently have this on my '02. Fitment is OEM and has a decent sound. Little to no drown in cabin.

I might be able to get at idle and possible drive-by later tonight.

I have a 3yr old and a 5yr old and neither of them even noticed.

My 5yr old (son) notices every lil change in noises of cars. Like father like son...

...that's my boy!

lol.. good stuff.. okay so if im understanding you right,.. it is basically a stock repalcement that made no difference in flow or noise?

Oh no. It's definately louder outside. Deep and low. Even at WOT, it's still a deep low mellow sound. And with 2.5" mandrel bends, it definately flows better.

But I highly doubt any significant power gains were achieved. Stock rear section is quite good. Basically, I felt like having something different that fit OEM and sounded more aggressive. This fit the bill...

It honestly looks almost identical to 5th gen stock SE muffler. So, with me having a 5.5 gen with 5th gen taillights and this muffler, it looks like I have a 5th gen with 5.5 gen headlights.

As promised...

...and yes the car is FILTHY, but you get the idea.

It's dark out, about 32 degrees and the car was warmed up.

Modified OEM intake, VIAS block off plate, dual O2 simulator, and eBay axle-back performance exhaust.

Im going to have to agree. I dont know if its because my car is the VQ30DE and not the VQ35DE, but my stock exhaust doesnt even come close to sounding that throaty. Might just be the vid tho. Sounds good man!

just installed one on my 3.5 today. not much louder than stock. quiet at full throttle. needed a little tweaking when installed to stop hitting the rear suspension. will get pic's later this weak no sound though have nothing to record on. i think it is worth the money. main thing i noticed is that it weighs 1/3 of the original muffler.

Look in the Modifications Sticky. Under the Exhaust section, there is a link to a thread with various exhaust sound clips and also to a few different discussions on the Megan exhaust.

Do some research.

Y-pipes are before the cat.
Test pipes replace the cat.
Mid pipes and b-pipes are the same I believe. They're the piping before the muffler.
Resonators are part of the Mid pipe/b-pipe.
