cannot bake the tails... only way would be to dremel them open.. do what you want and then epoxy them together.. they run like a 75% risk of cracking them when opening them,..unless you have done it b4,.. i have always wanted to open mine and paint the chrome somewhat of a gunmetal color.. like what you would see on an altima se-r but.. no ***** lol ..g/l post pics if u rip them open

The only way is the dremel. I've just done it. But not to tint them. Playing with a crazy IDEA. Check out you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWWR4FS4UNw

I see what you saying that probably would look tight. I think you should get a extra light and test it out they usually less than 30bucks on ebay. But you will have to find the best method in opening them like they said above cutting is prob the only way than glue them back. Good luck if it workouts post some pics

You cant bake them open. The clear plastic is fused to the rear plastic. It makes it very difficult to open up, and will require dremeling the rear housing. I've never done it before, but my friend who does LEDs pointed that out. There have been people who have made LED taillights here, so they have had to open up the housing.

is this kind of what your thinking?

I'm sick of my chrome stock tail lights (i think they look really cheap and cheesy myself) and thought about trying to paint them when i saw these. if u could paint the big clear circle red i think they would look pretty good.

OK just reread your post and that's not what your looking for but theres another idea for ya.

This is cool. But will get you pulled over quick...

Might be able to get away with it if it wasn't so fast.

Uhhh...no. Unless your dremel lines are supremely sloppy and you have to bend the lens cover to pull the components out, it will not crack.

Don't throw out BS numbers unless, of course, you have already done 4 tails and had 3 crack.

Nah, he'd be alright some cars come with all red tails like 03-04 altimas, or whatever the years were for the update in the newer body style. Ive had redouts for months now without a problem.

bs02maxima tails on the other hand, your going to jail.

As far as design you are not the first... However, separating the lights and tinting them... mey...

Good job. I want to see the close up pics after the body shop repairs them.
