6th Gen Front Brakes?

Currently in Iraq, cannot measure

I have read all of the threads on 6th gen brakes on 5.5 gen, especialy http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...e-upgrade.html

Question:

Has anybody had success using 16in winter rims (got mine from tirerack) with the 6th gen calipers and rotors or is this pretty much out of the question. The only measurement I have for them is what is on my original invoice: 16x6.5 5-114 et42 cb66 st new (I know they still sell them on tirerack.com but they do not have more info listed)

Thanks in advance

I would think fitting the 16's very unlikely since they are a tight fight on the stock 5.5 gen SE 17's. I think the clearance issue stems primarily from the increased rotor diameter.

Thanks for your service!

Thank you for a quick response! I will be back home in a couple of months (thankfully), been here since last August. Hopefully the care was kept up while I have been gone.

Anybody else have any ideas? Seems I would have to sell my winter and tires if I upgraded the brakes and they didn't fit, doesn't seem like a worth while venture unless somebody else has a better solution.

yeah pretty much new wheels that are = or > than stock sizes (17") or look into a different brake upgrade that fits your specific wheels.
Thanks for your service.

You can still run a Winter tire on the 17" SE wheels. The 16" Winter tire would be better than the 50 series 17", but the 17" will not be bad.
