End link question?

am I suppose to be able to move my endlinks with my hand? for example, twisting it back and forth. Does this mean that there bad and need replacing?
just wondering thanks

The way the dealer told me mine were bad was while the car was on the lift, he pulled down on the sway bar and it moved. Don't know how valid that test is, but that's how the dealer I went to discovered my endlinks problem(s).

There will be slight play, but not too much. The best check is to visually inspect. The bushing on the end should be in good repair with no cracks, leaking, or overly compressed.

If you question the condition at all just change them out. They are about $40 for both sides and take about 30 minutes to change out. The only thing is you have to get an alignment after changing the end links.

mine are overly compressed with alot of movement, I tried to take them off today but was defeated by the top bolt on the driver side. I ended of stripping the bolt. I guess I will have to torch it off, has anyone ever done this? I'll post some pictures up tomorrow.

Why would you get an alignment for work on the sway bar?

Negatory. The end links have zero affect on alignment.

asianstyle-when you change the end links, definitely go with the Moog instead of OEM.

As you can see, the Moog end links have much beefier construction.

Yes, definately go with the Moog. I did these a couple weeks ago and they are great. I like the fact that they are also greasable
