Update on Eurolites and FSTB.....
Update on Eurolites,FSTB, & Black Rings....
Just installed new low beam bulbs and Courtesy FSTB on my 2000 I30!
Eurolites are fantastic. 9006, 55 watt (stock wattage) Xenon “Super Plasma” bulbs give a nice, clean, white light, and improve visibility over the stock bulbs. They cast light much further down the road. (Much better than the Blue Visions which I had tried in the past and were not bright enough)
Had problems with the Courtesy FSTB! The directions on their web site are wrong. They say to torque the tower bolts last, however you cannot get to one of the tower bolts with the bar in place! When I tried to take the main bolt off (connects bar to end-plate) to start over, it froze!!
So, since I was unable to remove the bar on one side, one of the tower bolts was tightened by a hand wrench. The other 5 tower bolts are torque to 35 ft/lbs. Will this matter?
As far as the black rings that were on top of my strut towers, I had to keep it on at the driver’s side since the End-plate would not site correctly on the tower without it. On the passenger side, had to take the black ring off since the end-plate would not fit on top of it. Go figure!
The handling is much improved, no more of the vague feeling when taking a turn quickly. (Looking forward to testing it some more since could only take a quick spin tonight.)
What’s next you ask? Maybe RSB??
