I had mine done at a local locksmith; key, cutting and programming for $50. At the time dealership wanted over $100 for it. You might want to call locksmiths and dealerships in your area just to get an idea of the prices.

Ebay key $20 + $40 programming at the dealer.
All local locksmiths locally wanted $70, and the service person at the dealership mistakenly quoted me $40 for the service, which they normally charge $105 for.

Honestly it doesnt take jack **** to program a key because i used to work at a place that did it. $50 to program is wayy overpriced hell all you do is stick the old key in take it out and put the new key in after pressing a couple buttons and presto.. Try getting a key off ebay and have it cut and programmed at a hardware store.

^^ I've been waiting for this procedure to pop up somewhere. I was trying to pay close attention wen they did my key and this is what I vaguely remember:
After cutting the key and while having some sort of a scanner hooked up to the car, I saw the guy inserting the old key, turning the switch to the On position, then moving the gear selector from P to D. He did the same with the newly cut key. He then put the old key again, started the car and shut it off. Finally he put the new key in an started the car with it. After that, he removed the scanner from the car and he was done. I'm not sure if this is the actual sequence but it is what I remember. Somebody out there knows the exact details. It is outrageous what they charge for cutting and programming those keys.
