The power steering belt is the only difficult belt. Do an advanced search for power and steering and sort by relevency. There are about a dozen relevent threads. I just did it last weekend.

No fun. Bolts were rusty. Oiled them a couple times over a few days preceeding the change. Also purchased the KD tools serpentine belt tool kit. Picked up 12mm gear wrench vortex socket and 12 mm crows foot. Came in handy.

I watched my local Nissan Svc. Dude chg. mine last spring - and he had trouble with it, even while it was up in the air on a hoist, AND with the proper tools.

I pd. $175 and was GLAD to not have tried it meself.

There's a special tool you need to grab the tensioning bolt to the p/s belt, and it gets easily rusted, and hard to remove. Mine was well stripped after he got done.

Here's a good write up:

http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/udp.asp

It is for a UDP installation, but the idea is the same, so just follow the applicable steps, obviously.

its just a different pulley tensioner system then what i was used to. It wasnt easy but it wasnt entirely difficult. the toughest part is finding the right tension so the belt does squeek but is tight enough to not fall off and everything works properly.

Yes, and it's the same exact way on the 5.5 and 4th.

To be fair though, I consider the Maxima VQ belts on the easy scale because of my experience in the performance area.

You want hard, just try to change the belt on a Z with a Turbonetics kit on it...holy hell. Pretty much have to pull all of the IC piping off the front of the engine.

You want medium, change the belt on a Z with a Procharger setup. Have to work around the procharger bracket.

Wow. You have had your hands on some serious performance motors.
