slight popping sound when turning

Can anybody help me out? If I'm taking off and turning the wheel to the left, I hear a slight popping sound coming from my passenger side. It seems to be coming from around the wheel somewhere. I have read so many threads relating to front end sounds and it seems like it could be a number of things. So I figured it would be best to post a thread and see if anyone can point me to where I should focus first. I thinking maybe ball joints or tie rod ends. I did jack up the car and try to move the wheels in all directions to try to feel any play, but they feel pretty tight. Any help would be appreciated.

cv joint

best option would be to jack it up and see if anything looks unusual or had play. my bet is you have a torn cv boot and your joint needs replacing
