What is the weight of those rims?

I was looking into the weight of aftermarket rims vs. stock and I am having trouble locating what the weight of most rims are.
Any help I can get on this would be greatly appreciated.

Who makes the strongest light weight rims?

Thanks, those 2 sites help a lot.

Now, if I could just find the weight of the 2k maxs 17" SE rims and tires I would be in pretty good shape.

Do a search. There was a thread containing this info a few weeks ago. If I recall correctly, the 17's with tires were 45 lbs or thereabouts.

J's racing has some light #!@ wheels! If you could cut your drive wheels wgt. by 25%, wouldn't this help your acceleration and mileage tremendously?

yes... lightweight wheels will help. Volk's as well as SSR rims are known to be light weight also.

The diameter increase alone will make a difference in acceleration. The weight makes a difference also, but the rotational inertia of a wheel varies by the square of the radius. I don't know how much the 16" GLE rims weigh, but I think they may be a little more than 23 lbs....

so UMD, the acceleration difference shouldn't be that much different considering the stock rims weigh more than the rims i'm looking to get? what about tire size? the rims come with 215/35/18 toyo's.. i don't know much about tires.. does that size seem about right? or is there a better size i should get?

I remember the tread, but if I remember correctly the listed weights were combined; I'm looking for the weight of the rims and the weight of the tires independent of each other.

Thanks again.

It will make a difference. How much is hard to say, but since the rims are a lot lighter, that is good. As for tires, 215/35/18 is not the right size. Your speedo will be off with that size. For 18", I think 235/40/18 is the correct size.
