I thought it may be a good idea b/c I've read in some posts that people have been having problems taking them off b/c of the rust.

If so ... were you able to get the exact same type of bolt that Stillen provides? I wasn't able to ... I just got a similar sized hex bolt ... this should be ok .. right?

I didn't get stainless steel washers and bolts, but I shoul dhave back when I installed it. Mine are rusted, but I don't think they are that bad yet.

 

For the price you pay for that thing, they ought to come with stailess!

I did what Russ suggested and got them in stainless steel. they look like the ones that come with the bar. It cost me about 10-12 dollars or something like that.

To make a long story short, a guy at homedepot told be of a place that might have them and looked it up in hte yellow pages. Found one in my area called inland specialties that specializes in bolts, nuts, washers and all that stuff. Thing is I live in Southern California.

 

I looked for about a week in every hardware store in the yellow pages practially in St. Louis and couldn't find these sizes in stainless steel - crap. (Most places don't have Socket Head Cap Screws over 2' long in a 3/8 diameter) So, I called Inland Specialties, talked to a very helpful guy there and he took my order over the phone and is shipping them to me. Would have cost about $13, but I had to buy a whole bag of 25 of the Hex Head Bolts since they were out - so that ran it up to about $20. I have extra of those if anybody wants them!
