E3 spark plug review for 00 Max

Anyways I have always been a big fan of the NGK Iridiums in my maxima, or any of my vehicles for that matter. Well lately I have been noticing bad performance and misfires. So I went ahead and decided to check out the plugs. The NGK's after only 15k miles were toast, and was really upset with this. So went into Checker Auto and decided i'm gonna try these E3 plugs, they were cheaper then the NGK's and from my research they provide a lot more spark. Well changed to them, and must say a big difference in performance, even from when I changed my plugs last time. These seem to give the car a much quicker response and acceleration was a drastic improvement over the NGK's when they were new. So to any seeking a good plug, these might be worth a try for ya, plus they are cheaper. As for the gas economy well i'm gonna have to use them for a bit and see. For the most part they seem to be a big improvement over the NGK Iridium's.

That was on earlier E3 plugs, read all about it. Since then E3 has fixed that issue of the electrode eroding away.

Nismospeed seems to be the first one complaining about NGK Iridiums. Anybody else had trouble with OEM NGK on *any* car?

I have iridiums in my car now. I've been running them for about a year and now I get misfires very frequently and sometimes it will drop a cylinder completely. (car makes that subaru WRX like tone from the exhaust)

I dont know if it's the plugs or not, but people I know personally with other cars say they experienced the same thing till they switched out to another type of plug.

Im running the Zex plugs and they work great even for daily driving. I would recomend them to anyone running boost or nitrous. I would almost recomend them to anyone but there one stage colder so that might kill a little n/a power. I hated the NGK's they would go bad after just one bottle but these zex plugs are still going.

NGK 1 step colder iridiums here with no problems. I've never had a misfire or anything, ever. They've been in a year and about 15k miles. Car runs a farm full of pigs rich.

I say go for the stock-replacement-type Denso Platinum's that you can get for like 3 bucks apiece at any given parts store. Factory plugs are platinum, and they last 100K+ miles, per FSM recommendations, so surely they're good enough to replace with like plugs. E3 ~might~ be a bit better, but it'll take a long time to offset the cost difference with any improvement in gas mileage. I see plenty of glowing recommendations for them at the 12 and 18 month mark, but will they last 80-100K miles? It might take that many miles to get the payback in fuel mileage.
