Girl rear ended me a couple days ago :(
I got hit while at a stop light. Everything is fine for the most part, but my bumper is pretty scratched up and a bracket broke. I got a quote from one shop for $195 for a new bumper and paint/clear and any alignment if needed and a $285 quote from a that charges out the *** just to pad my payment amount... shhh...
Does $195 sound good for bumper/paint/clear/alignment?

It's probably partly because I went to the most expensive shop first and told them to beat the price and the dude got all crazy. My boy works for another shop and I'm going to see if he can do a better deal

hm.. i got rear ended by some guy in a jetta doing 5mph.. and it ended up costing about 1600.. and the bodyshop DIDN'T do a good job AT all. (Jimmys Paint & Body.. Baytown, TX) I found out when I got rear ended again and had gotten it repaired by a body shop with a lifetime guarantee (Nationwide Blue Ribbon)

Ya I agree with most that $195 is cheap but if you know the guy or shop you might be getting a deal, but definitely ask around or check for work to see if your gonna be paying $200 bucks for a bumper that looks like it was spray painted and wavy and chips in two months...But if your getting hooked up thats a great price...I'm having my rear bumper & trunk, front bumper, grill and stillen front and rears done for $600 through a buddy of mine so shop around and check their work...

A woman ran into me this past winter and my bumper looked like less damage than your picture shows. The original insurance estimate was $494.00, the final bill after they got into the repair was $1339.00.
Good luck with your $195 repair.
Ps. labor $658.00 (included alignment front/rear and frame etc)
new bumper cover $248.00
rear mounting brackets $70.00
bumper cushin $57
bumper reinforcement bar $127
paint and materials $179

i have been trying to get rear ended for like 8 months now! i have a few scratches in my rear bumper that i am too cheap to fix.
The two times i have been hit i had LW Auto body, which is in salt lake, do the work the last time was just the bumper and was about $230. both times they did a great job. I cant remember what all they replaced but i didnt really care because it looked good and i wasn't paying. Text me if you want their info

Does it matter if she's paying out of pocket rather than insurance?

i dont remember what all they did it was like 3 years ago. I think i probably have the paperwork from it somewhere though.
It doesn't matter who is paying for it as long as it was her fault she has a responsibility to fix it. I would just take it to the dealership up there or another reputable shop and get a quote then use that number. You dont want to get a bad job done just to save her or the insurance company some money
