Exhaust

I need to buy a new exhaust either catback or axle back and was wondering what type would be a good one. I know there is a thread about it but all the sound clips have headers and my car is just stock. So if anybody could tell me what type would give a nice sound but not too ricy that would be great.

So you're looking for sound? Megan would be the cheapest with a decent sound. Cattman for the best performance.

both offer the same performance unless you wanted to do the cattman 3" which im not sure if thats into production yet... megan would be the least expensive or you can just buy a 22" resonator and have an exhaust shop do one for you... even less than both and same performance

i agree also... EVO2 with and intake sounds beautiful... if u do headers its sounds even better but when i hate it is when u do a staight through test pipe... but he never said he wanted to rob the bank for an exhaust... greddy is too expensive... even when i had it i bought it used from an org member... Megan for the win, or for the most quiet and less expensive, 22" resonator with a custom b-pipe and stock axle back

So a megan exhaust for my 3.0 would be the best bet for some nice sound and a good price?

again......... depending on what performance u plan on going with after then megans might be a lil loud....... what are you most interested in... sound or looks... (please dont say both) thats like sayin i wanna be the lowest car ever with oem ride quality... ur gonna have to sacrifice one or the other............ again
Looks and braggin rights (i guess)
Megan oe-rs catback

Sound and price
Resonator and 2.5" custom with oem tip

Both offer the same amount of performance

just for the muffler. Magnaflow doesn't make a catback for the 3.0 just 3.5.
but honestly a cat back is just stainless steel piping really. can go to any muffler shop and have them do a custom job. which will prob be cheaper then a whole name brand catback.

Not sure why the volume is so low, but you're gonna have to turn up your speakers. Also, when I was picking a muffler I found it best to listen to exhaust clips with some kind of subwoofer to get a better idea of how it sounds in real life. As for cost, I really can't remember, I know it was cheaper than going OEM though.

When it comes to resonators, and quieting the exhaust, are two smaller ones better than one large one, or is it all the same. Just put on my warpspeed y-pipe and the exhaust got two or 3 times as loud. Stock from the cat to the b-pipe, aftermarket axleback.

I listened to that clip then listened to the clip of the Borla (to the right). The Borla sounds better. Anything that has that ricey or cackley sound when letting off the throttle is too loud.

i dont know really, but when you think of it from a technical stand point it should be the same, cause its technically doing the same thing

you probebly wont, your kinda being ultimately picky... the frankencar exhaust that i've heard sounds really good also, but to find someone with all the exact setup let alone someone with a video clip is gonna be hard... just look for someone with close to the same mods, the sound will differ very little

Hey Grand Hustle, can you post a clip of your exhaust? I really would like to know how your setup sounds.

It looks like a great budget setup. Want to know if it's worth the money savings.

Thanks
