What should the tire pressure for our max be? According to nissan, they say 32 all around. I spoke to a defense driving teacher, he told me that dealers normally set the tire pressure below the tire manf. suggestion pressure so we can get a smoother ride from our max. what do u guys think?

33 is the recommended psi from most Max owners.

Tire max is 44 (on the Bridgestone Potenzas)...

and I have been filling them to 40 psi the past month (couldn't locate the Nissan sticker in the center console). The ride at 40 psi seems as smooth as it was at 32, and I don't think I am doing anything bad to either the tires or the car at this level (anyone out there more knowledgeable on this?).

Nope not at all, Nissan recommends 32psi b/c thats where U'ld feel the least bumps and would have enough air in the tires, I use to run 40 in my socks, and now with my RE-730z I run 44psi, the only thing is that the ride is a little harder but I don't mind, I drive crazy so I need all I can get. it doesn't hurt the car or the tires to run at 40 or 44, just the ride a little stiffer. just make sure when U put that much air in the tire that the tires are already at running temp, b/c whats gonna happin is that U R gonna put 44psi in cold tires and then when U drive it will get hot and go over 44 and that not good. but I run 44 all the time and have not problems.

Hey Pioneer,

How are those RE730's? I was thinking about getting those tires for myself. They got some really good reviews, I think in some points the even beat the SP8000's.

All I read was they were better then the SP8K, They are about the same price, the SP8K doesn't last as long, so far I have no problems, a bit of road noise vs the stockers, but O well. Also they are better at road noise then the SP8K, but damn the SP8K loooks Sweet though.

Thanks for the feedback - I had posted ~a month ago that I had increased my pressure to 40psi, and got a vague negative respose in reply, although I couldn't think of any reason why it would not be OK (or even safer).

Uhhhhhh.... Mi2kse..... one little thing, that you are not aware of is that you should NEVER adjust your tire pressure when your tire is hot... you ALWAYS check it when it's COLD.. the reason being tha you can not know what the temp is inside your tire at any given point except when it's cold... Tire manufacturers set the maximum PSI for each tire knowing that it will get got and the pressure will increase.... That is why they have higher PSI ratings for Z-Rated tires... because they can withstand the higher pressure that is generated by the hot air inside the tire... Anyways ALWAYS check/add air to your tires when they are cool... and yes you can set your tire press. at anything below the tire's max Psi rating. It will also help your fuel economy a bit... but your ride will suffer a bit too.... and your traction will not be as good as if you set them at a recommended press.... (that's why at the track if you let air out of the tires on your drive wheels you will get better traction out of them.... there's a ton of stuff that I could go on and on... but that's another time.

Your EIBACH Springs and Tokico Combo

JayC, Did you install the Springs and the Shocks at the same time or alternate. Question is, does the Tokicos smoothes the ride or not realy.

Shocks

I had them installed at the same time. I like them better than stock SE stuff.

The recommend TP is printed under your arm rest.

front 32
back 30

I've tried more on purpose and less just because the weather got colder and I like the recommended the most cuz I feel the tires getting the most grip and road feel.

If they're overpumped most of the traction will be focused on the middle of the tire and if too little then the focus is on the outter. At the perfect TP both the inner and outter tread will be used evenly and the ride should be ok and not as harsh as the high tp.
