Torque braking question

Yesterday someone ****ed me off and I was really gonna let it ride on my way outta the parking lot...so I stand on the brake and then jumped on the gas and the tach would only go to 2000 rpm's...
ok so I backed off and tried again. Still only to 2k rpm's
I havent tried yet today since I havent gone anywhere but is this normal??
Tha car runs fine all other times just wondering if it shouldnt let me rev higher then 2??
Thanks

That is the stall speed of your torque converter. It's normal.

That sounds about right.... your stock TC will only stall up to about 2k rpm.... you can get aftermarket torque converters that will have higher stall speed and will allow you to launch better off the line
